Name: Sora Door: Canon: Kingdom Hearts Canon Point: Near the end of Dream Drop Distance (as he sinks further into the dream) + CRAU Age: 20-ish (looks 17) Appearance: Sora spent several years in different games, though in the first and longest, every canon update or drop and re-app meant he would go back to his original appearance (they were clones). He suffered several of these setbacks, making his appearance younger than he actually is mentally now. The last game allowed him the opportunity to age physically a little bit naturally. Sora has lost his gravity defying hair and let it grow long enough he can pull it back into a ponytail. He also accumulated a lot of scars from various tortures and even deaths. PB is Arthur Leywin from The Beginning After the End Sora older | Scars History: "A scattered dream that's like a far-off memory. A far-off memory that's like a scattered dream." CR AU (Optional): "I want to line the pieces up... yours and mine." Personality: Positive Trait: From the very beginning, Sora has always proven that he can pick himself back up when he's been brought down. He lost his entire world to darkness, then went on a journey to save it and his friends. It didn't matter what was thrown at him, he kept moving forward, and sometimes it may have taken the support of a friend, but in the end it never fully stopped him. Time and time again, his powers have been essentially reset, making him start over from the very beginning. Sora is constantly proving just how resilient he is to take these hardships and keep going. This doesn't just extend to himself either, whenever a friend is down he is right there to lend them support and words of encouragement. Often putting himself at their side to accomplish whatever task or goal they might have. He is willing to take on some of the burdens of other people so that they don't have to do anything alone. This hasn't changed during his time in other games, in fact, it has only proven just how resilient he is when faced with the worst hardships he can imagine. Sora has suffered loss, and physical torture, he has loved and had that ripped away, he has felt helpless to save anyone. There has been such heartbreak that it would have been easier to give up, to give in to the darkness that lives inside of him. But he's still here. Through the support of friends and his own inner strength, Sora has climbed up out of the pits of despair in order to keep truly living. He has learned how to bend a little more instead of outright breaking, and even reached out to seek mental health for all of the traumas he's gone through. There is still a lot of weight and sorrow that exists in his heart, but Sora hasn't let that stop him from making new friends that he might lose eventually, too. That spark that makes him such a friendly and helpful person hasn't gone dark, his tenacity is still strong. He actually handles physical pain very easily, as well. Both throughout canon and in his previous games. Sora is a fighter and has been sparring with people ever since he knew what holding a sword was. While he might react to getting hurt, it doesn't stop him from continuing to fight. His physical resilience is a lot stronger than his mental one, as Sora can take a beating and keep on ticking. After his time in a torture box and many violent worlds, he now bears evidence of how much pain and suffering he can take. Honestly, he'd prefer physical pain over mental and emotional ones. This also plays into one of his biggest negative traits. Negative Trait: When we see Sora as a young child, his heart connects to that of another person - something he simply does without even knowing who is on the other side. This is something that Sora continuously does throughout his life, offering himself up if it will mean helping another person. He even split himself into a Heartless and Nobody just to free Kairi's heart, not knowing if he could ever come back from that. Constantly, Sora is putting his own needs and desires on hold to help out those who have a problem he can try to solve right then and there. He would willingly sacrifice himself if it meant a friend or someone he loved would survive. Not that he wouldn't try to fight for both of them first, but if it came down to it in the end, Sora would rather be the one to die or cease to exist. He gets upset over learning about Roxas - how his Nobody came back to him just so that he could wake up. Seeing all of the people that came before him in DDD's dream is what pulls Sora deeper into it, wanting to chase after them in order to save them in the first place. Even the future events of KH3 shows how much he's able to sacrifice his own life to bring back someone he cares about. This continues to be Sora's main weakness even after several years of living in harsh environments, maybe even more than it had before. Even knowing that death wasn't always permanent in those specific worlds, he was devastated by each one that happened. It ended up giving him very little care for his own life - saying that he would rather it was him who died. On a couple of occasions, he did actually offer up his life to successfully save other people. Sora left them with that pain, but he is fully aware of just how much it hurts. When he was at his worst in this particular matter, someone he loved made him promise to not risk his life so much. For a while, he succeeded in that, but the burden of condemning someone else to die is sometimes too great for him to bear. So while he will do anything and everything he can to save himself and the other person, Sora is still the type of person who would sacrifice himself if it absolutely assured the other would get to live. He brushes off his own death and pain, feeling that his sacrifice is worth the life of nearly everyone else around him. If he can save more than one person, then that's even better in his eyes. Negative Trait: Negative Trait: Powers and Abilities: "My friends are my power!" I typically nerf his healing magic to allow other muns to choose how much he can heal. It doesn't help with limb loss and does need time to recharge. Too much use of his magic means Sora will have to regain mana to cast anything else. He'll be able to use 5 of the stronger spells in a row, 7 of the middle, and 9 of the lower. Everything has to be within a small radius around Sora, including the time spell - which will only last 10 seconds at the strongest spell. Certain spell will only work on legitimate monsters and never any PCs or NPCs like Mini or Timebomb. Inventory: - Orange cat: Mittens - Ring Samples: |
